A crankshaft pulley, also called a harmonic balance wheel or crankshaft sheave, is a grooved, wheel-shaped device that connects directly to the vehicle's crankshaft.

Its purpose is to turn the drive belts that operate the engine accessories (alternator, air conditioning compressor, etc.)

Truck engines had cast iron crank pulleys (all truck engines used a short water pump), passenger cars had stamped steel pulleys.

Different Applications, such as:

1. Diesel generator set
2. Water pump set, fire pump set
3. Construction and engineering machinery (crane, excavator, bulldozer, loader, etc)
4. Automobile (bus, coach, shuttle, etc)
5. Marine main propulsion, marine auxiliary generator set
