A threaded mechanical tee is a very special grooved pipe fitting that uses a washer secured by the housing to attach the new pipe to the existing pipe.

Mechanical tees have the following components:

• An upper housing, which accepts the gasket and has an outlet
• A lower housing, which secures the upper housing to the pipe
• A gasket for creating a seal
• Bolts and nuts

Housing materials of Mechanical Tee:
Ductile iron is the most commonly used material for the mechanical tee housings. Because ductile iron has high tensile strength and wear resistance, and good heat dissipation and vibration.

Applications of Mechanical Tee:
Fire fighting, water supply, mining pipes, etc.
